The Light was Nice
On Saturday, August 4, 2012, Karien Sewell points to the other side of the fence where she would come to the Forest Hills Cemetery in the St. Elmo community of Chattanooga, Tennessee, after operating hours to sit and be near her son’s grave. In 2005, Sewell’s son, Shawn, was murdered by his girlfriend, but on the day the woman was released from serving her prison sentence, Sewell said she was there to tell the young woman she was forgiven.
